Extensive search capabilities provide precise, complete and accurate results
StoredIQ provides advanced search capabilities specifically tailored to assist users who need to find, retrieve and review information across large amounts of unstructured data within the enterprise. StoredIQ can also search within nested container objects such as compressed files, email archives, and attachments within email messages. Search results are displayed in a text-based file viewer that highlights all matching keywords and terms. No local application software is necessary to view searched file content, and viewing documents does not alter any system metadata attributes. Non-printable text within a document, such as revisions and comments, can be searched as object level attributes. In addition, searches can be saved and re-used later and search results can be viewed real-time and saved for review or subsequent processing.
The following advanced search capabilities are supported on unstructured data content within StoredIQ:
- Keywords
- Single term search
- Multiple term search
- Concept-based search
- Boolean operators
- Logical grouping of terms
- Wildcards within search terms or Boolean expressions
- Proximity searches
- Natural language processing
- Regular expressions
- Macro-based searches
- Object level attributes
- Hash value (digital signatures)
The unified Search user interface allows a user to enter simple or arbitrarily complex search strings using Westlaw®-like syntax, and searches can be performed on a mix of full text, metadata, and file attributes. The advanced user interface aids in the construction of complex searches by grouping related attributes and providing an attribute picker, and by inspecting and assisting in the correction of potentially erroneous search criteria.
StoredIQ performs natural language processing (NLP), extracting linguistically derived natural language concepts from within ESI. Users can immediately search using over 250 out-of-the-box concepts and attributes including credit card accounts, social security numbers and stock symbols. NLP identifies word usage based upon context within a sentence. For example, NLP can identify if the word 'will' is used to identify a person's name, a legal document or an auxiliary verb showing intent. StoredIQ has proprietary technology for Adaptive Sentence Boundary Disambiguation (ASBD) which substantially increases the precision of NLP to address common grammatical deficiencies that are present in many business documents. No other information management technologies have this capability. NLP is a critical capability necessary to accurately perform eDiscovery, records management, governance or compliance as full text indices alone cannot provide the required level of precision.
Key Highlights:
- Powerful search user interface simplifies construction of complex searches
- Advanced linguistic search capabilities leverage Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Adaptive Sentence Boundary Disambiguation (ASBD) for increased accuracy of results
- Query hit highlighting within documents for rapid review
